The Majestic Lodge is the Premier Boutique Hotel of La Fortuna, Costa Rica. This unique facility features 10 private rooms, each with its own private onsuite bathroom. Every room has it’s own wonderful themed artwork and style, cultivated around Costa Ricas diverse wildlife and natural features.
Located on the West Side of Volcano Arenal near La Fortuna just South of Lake Arenal, The Majestic Lodge resides in a small town named El Castillo. It is 5 minutes walking distance around the corner from Lake Arenal, and a 10 minute walk to where you can rent kayaks, paddleboards, etc. to enjoy the lake.
The lodge has onsite caretakers who will prepare your meals, provide concierge services, help plan your excursions, offer cleaning and laundry services, and take care of all your needs.
All of the rooms at The Majestic Lodge are designed with nature in mind, including themed artwork and features for each room highlighting Costa Rica’s unique biodiversity and wildlife. Each of the 10 bedrooms has high end mattresses and sheets, air conditioning units for your comfort, and a private ensuite bathroom stocked with a hair dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lots more.
For this retreat we offer three different options for your lodging. If you are joining with a friend, family member, or partner, you have the option to share a room and ensuite bathroom. Some rooms have Queen or Kings beds that can be shared and other rooms have two or three separate beds. There are also private rooms with ensuite bathrooms if you prefer to have a private space of your own to unwind. If you’d like a shared room and are joining us solo, please let us know and we will work to match you with another participant seeking the same accomodations.

April is a yoga studio owner and instructor who brings her love of movement together with her years of experience as a registered social worker to support you in your journey home to yourself. She is a trauma informed teacher who employs a poetic lens of awareness to craft unique classes that speak to body, mind and spirit. April is known for her graceful flowing classes that simultaneously encourage her students to laugh, grow, and challenge themselves while creating a safe container for rest, healing and deep inner work.
In addition to her 200-hour training, April has completed an additional 300 hours in Trauma Centered Trauma Sensitive Yoga from the Center for Trauma and Embodiment as well as the 300-hour YogaSpace Advanced Teacher Training Program in Toronto. She holds certifications in Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Meditation, Prenatal Yoga, Elemental Vinyasa, Hands-On Assists and Yoga Philosophy. This is just the beginning for April and she looks forward to a lifetime of learning and deep practice.
Lacey was originally drawn to the practice of Yoga as a means to process grief. Yoga quickly became a lifestyle, helping her heal, reconnect with herself, and feel more present in her life. Today, she is honoured to share these transformative practices with others.
Lacey knows first-hand the benefits of Yoga and she leads with the belief that Yoga should be welcoming and accessible to every body. Her students are encouraged to leave their preconceived notions of what yoga “should” look like at the door so they may explore their own potential while having fun. You can expect to leave feeling uplifted and empowered.
Lacey is a lifelong learner who became a 200-hour certified teacher in 2017. She has gone on to take additional training in creative cueing, hands on assists and adjustments, yoga philosophy, meditation, restorative yoga and yoga nidra.
The Majestic Lodge is located within 5-20 minutes of several of the best attractions La Fortuna has to offer such as zip lines, hanging bridges, waterfalls, volcano hikes, lake kayaking, horseback rides and more. Concierge services are provided to help you plan excursions and get the most out of your time in the area.
These excursions are an integral part of the experience of travelling to Costa Rica, and the itinerary provides ample opportunity to experience many of them. We encourage you to challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone to try something new and adventurous… you will come home with memories, stories and shared experiences with your fellow retreat participants that will last a lifetime!
We have planned three group excursions that are already included in your retreat fees: the La Fortuna Waterfall, the nearby butterfly conservatory, and a hiking tour the to Arenal 1968 Volcano View & Lava Flow Trail hiking.
La Fortuna Waterfall is one of the highest and most beautiful waterfalls in Costa Rica. Visitors love to swim in the pool below the falls and take pictures of its beauty. Just 10 minutes away from downtown La Fortuna, and after a short hike down the 500 steps, you can swim in the refreshing waters of La Fortuna River while contemplate the stunning and powerful 200ft high waterfall.
The fees for this excursion are already included in your retreat fees and will be scheduled together as a whole group excursion for all retreat participants!
Hike the rain forest trails and explore the Lava Fields of the original eruptions of 1968 at the base of the Arenal Volcano in the “Arenal 1968” private park. The trails are clean and well-marked, so you can easily access the lava trails in a self-guided mode.

The Metamorphosis Tour offers a practical educational adventure about nature, with diversified exhibits of how butterflies, frogs, insects, and plants reproduce in this natural environment surrounding the Arenal Volcano. There is also a picturesque trail around the property with lots of flowers and wildlife to observe. Located 600m south of the Welcome Center El Castillo.

Next to the Tabacon hotel is a free flowing hot springs river. Free of cost and incredibly unique. Additionally, Tabicon Hot Springs is a luxurious resort with numerous river pools and varying temperatures and water flows. Some pools are vast and calm, others are small and afford privacy. And it’s not all hot; Tabacon offers a cold-water pool, just a couple of minutes by foot, into the dense rainforest. The main sunbathing and swimming area features five pools, a swim-up bar, and the thermal water slide.

This zip line has 8 lines and spans between two mountains. The lines are really long and it has incredible views. The tour will start riding an open-air gondola from the ground to the heights where you’ll be dropped off at an observation area for fantastic views. From this area, you will start riding down on an 8 zip line track stretching across canyons and in between treetops, the exhilarating adventure of zip lining down the mountainside begins, ultimately returning you to the starting point at the main building.

This experience starts with a SUP introductory class for beginners by our specialized bi-lingual tour guides; no previous experience needed. In this class, you’ll learn the basics of SUP; we follow the International Surfing Association (ISA) class structure (Explanation-Demonstration-Practice-Feedback). Our tour consists of a 2-3 miles route where you’ll experience the sights of Arenal Volcano on a board! The activity includes certified bi-lingual guide (6:1 ratio), hydration, energy bars, local fruits, and towels.

Experience the excitement and adrenaline of white water rafting on this half day adventure on the class 2&3 and 3&4 Balsa River 45 minutes from La Fortuna. Enjoy up to 2 exhilarating hours of white water action on this beautiful tropical river. Get wet and wild through the rapids. Enjoy a swim, some fresh tropical fruits and cold drinks followed by a hearty Costa Rican lunch.

This option is ideal if you want to enjoy the nature and fantastic landscaping of our little village. Starting at 9am, the 3 hour roundtrip Horseback ride takes you along the hills overlooking El Castillo, with stunning views of the Arenal Lake and the Volcano, then immerse in the rain forest and local farms until you arrive to a waterfall in the middle of the jungle, where after a short hike you can swim in its crystalline waters before going back to the stables.

Enjoy travelling the rain forest comfortably in our revitalizing paths full of nature and wildlife. In front of the majestic Arenal Volcano you can admire its beauty and the wonderful forest that surrounds it, as well as a reserve populated with wildlife in their natural habitat. You will start out in open plans where you can warm up with your quad or side by side. Then quickly start your ride through the tropical rain forest. Crazy turns, wild jumps and a lot of fun and adrenaline running through your body. You will go to observation points where you can take pictures and cross rivers to wash some of the mud off. You will be on your quad for 2 hours full of adrenaline and excitement.

Pure Trek is La Fortuna’s most popular canyoning & waterfall rappelling operator. With professional and certified guides that have lead thousands of clients of all ages through our well maintained canyon for an adventure of a lifetime. This half-day canyoning tour will take you deep inside the Pure Trek canyon to experience a series of waterfall rappels, and activities like rock climbing and the “Monkey Drop” – you will get wet! Keep your eyes open for a chance to see toucans, sloths, monkeys and other exotic wildlife.

We are excited to share this incredible experience with as many of you as possible! We have room in our yoga practice space for 15 participants, but The Majestic Lodge has accomodations for a few more. If you have a non-yogi friend, family member or partner that would like to experience the adventure of this trip but skip out on the yoga, we have some limited spaces available.
Our retreats respect and honour where you are right now in your health journey. Please write to us with anything we may need preparation for in order to make your retreat as comfortable as possible!
Prices are per person. A separate booking must be made for each person in a group, please note if you wish to share a room with a friend or relative. If not, and you choose a shared room, you will share it with a friend you haven’t met yet!
All bookings are final with no refunds. We require a $750 USD deposit at sign up which is non-refundable. The remaining balance of your retreat price will be due December 16th, 2024. There is no refund after the balance is paid.
In case of illness or force majeure, we will do our best to find a solution/have another participant take the space and trip insurance is available through our retreat planning company, Wassermann Retreats. It is possible to give your space to a friend, just inform us at least 1 week before the retreat takes place via email at retreats@lostnfoundyoga.com.
