Press Pause in Portugal

Yoga Retreat in Olhão, Portugal

MAY 13TH - 19TH, 2026

Welcome

Boasting over 300 days of sunshine every year, Portugal’s magical Algarve is the perfect place to press pause. The Algarve, Portugal’s southern coastline, is known for its picturesque beaches backdropped by dramatic, golden cliffs sculpted by the elements. Quaint villages and artisanal cuisine are sure to delight.

You will find Casa Rosa Villa, our bohemian styled luxury boutique hotel, nestled in the fishing village of Olhão. It’s the perfect place to slow down and soak in your surroundings. Spend your day relaxing on white washed stone by the pool, or venture to one of the stunning nearby islands. Borrow a bike to explore the salt pans or go by foot to immerse yourself in the culture of local artists, delightful markets and authentic restaurants.

Healthy, local food prepared for you, chilled wine and nightly turndown service are just some of what you can look forward to at this beautiful villa.

  • Amanda Lihou

For over two decades, yoga has been Amanda’s anchor—a practice that helped her navigate life’s challenges and find balance. What began as a personal refuge became a lifelong passion, shaping both her well-being and career.

Before fully entering the world of mind and body health, Amanda built a successful career in the fast-paced media industry, sharpening her skills in leadership, organization, and strategic planning. Yet, her heart was always drawn to creating a space where movement and mindfulness could thrive.

Marriage and motherhood deepened her connection to yoga, leading her to Lost ‘n Found Yoga, where her practice became a lifeline. In 2021, she earned her yoga teacher certification and soon stepped into the role of Studio Administrator—a perfect blend of her expertise in business operations and her love for movement.

Today, Amanda is dedicated to creating a seamless studio experience, ensuring that every client and instructor feels supported. She thrives at the intersection of passion and profession, helping others find balance through movement and community.

The Area

Set on the banks of the Ria Formosa in the unspoilt eastern Algarve, Olhão is a beautiful old fishing town that still has the sea at its heart. It has a working fleet – the largest in the region – and you’ll find its fresh bounty in the town’s market and restaurants.

These markets are very special indeed and they’re one of the fabulous things that make his town incredible – and they’re just a five-minute walk from Casa Rosa Villa. On Saturdays, the place buzzes as farming families set up along the seafront, selling citrus fruits, pomegranates, almonds, tomatoes, figs, piri piri peppers and the other glories of the Algarve fields.

The town has a maze of cubist houses on the cobbled streets near the market and as you move further north the style changes to something a little grander. It’s an easy-going place, with a very distinct heart and guests simply enjoy wandering around, stumbling upon sculptures and murals that are all part of the civic art here. Near the supermarket, Pingo Doce, along the walls of the old cannery buildings, you’ll see vast depictions of the fish-canning industry that once thrived in the town.

Once you see the light in Olhão, you’ll understand why it attracts painters here – as well as all sorts of creative types. It’s still a traditional working town – but it’s also artistic. There’s a cultural centre, República 14, just across the road from Casa Rosa Villa, with yoga, Pilates and Qigong classes as well as art exhibitions, concerts and open-air films and it has a café and bar.
