Mat + Reformer Pilates Teacher Training

The Pilates Teacher Training program at Lost ‘n Found Yoga is an intensive training offered in three modules. It is offered in a weekend format designed to accommodate students with regular full-time employment. The training is hosted on-site at Lost ‘n Found Yoga’s facility at the Grantham Plaza in St. Catharines, with select portions offered online via Zoom.

The Breakdown

Module 1:

Mat Levels 1 + 2 (April 20 - Jun 9)

The Foundational Mat Levels 1 and 2 module will include Mat Level 1  & 2 exercises and repertoire with some additional foundational Pilates elements, including Pilates history and background, Pilates principles, Pilates cueing and communication, adapative programming and applied anatomy.

This is a 70 hour course that is primarily in-person. Up to 10 hours may be virtual synchronous, and up to 7 hours may be virtual asynchronous. Additional hours of video review and practice are required between sessions.

Dates: The 2024 program is completed. 2025 dates TBD

Module Fees: $3,495 + HST (includes all manuals, video support and related supplies)

Exam Fee: $275 + HST

Module 2:

Foundational Reformer Levels 1 + 2 (June 21 - August 18)

The Foundational Reformer Levels 1 and 2 module will include Reformer Level 1  & 2 exercises and repertoire with some additional foundational Pilates elements, including Pilates history and background, Pilates principles, Pilates cueing and communication, adapative programming and applied anatomy.

This is a 70 hour course that is primarily in-person. An additional 5 hours will be virtual asynchronous on top of the hours listed below. Additional hours of video review and practice are required between sessions.

Module Fees: $3,495 + HST (includes all manuals, video support and related supplies)

Exam Fee: $275 + HST

Module 3:

Chair + Cadillac Levels 1 + 2 (September 14 - November 3)

The third module is Chair and Cadillac Levels 1 & 2. The Chair, Cadillac and Tower apparatus are highly diverse and offer exceptional exercise for therapeutic and athletic needs. For this course we expect that students are starting to understand programming for individual clients and group classes, Pilates principles and basic anatomy. These apparatuses offer new repertoire and variations that both stand alone, and work in conjunction with the Reformer exercises learned in the previous module.

This is a 50 hour in studio course. Additional hours of video review and practice are required between sessions.

Laura Helsel

Program Facilitator from Pilates Process

Laura Helsel is the founder of Pilates Process in Toronto, and she comes from a career in dance. After working as a Stott Pilates™ instructor trainer for several years, she opened Pilates Process (formerly Riverdale Pilates) in Toronto in 2001. She has taken extensive courses to develop her expertise in multiple areas including core stability, biomechanics, low back pain, chronic pain management, patella femoral syndrome, and fascial training.

Inspired by how increasingly effective her teaching became, she developed a teacher training program with a new approach to Pilates. The Pilates Process™ method began in 2003.  Since then, she has trained and mentored hundreds of teachers and continues to lead the field in this adaptive, evolving approach.

Laura is the lead trainer for the Pilates Teacher Training program at Lost ‘n Found Yoga. She will lead most of the weekends in each module with additional teaching offered by other members of her Teacher Training team from Pilates Process.
