The skill of offering supportive hands-on assists and adjustments is wonderful tool in the yoga teacher’s toolbox. Offering hands-on support is a powerful way to engage with students and build trust with them. Join highly sought after yoga teacher YuMee Chung, the Toronto Star’s resident yoga columnist, for this weekend training to learn the value of touch through a trauma informed lens.
This training is designed to explore the “why”, “when” and “how” to offer gentle and effective hands-on assistance to your students. Working from the premise that listening precedes action, you will explore listening in it’s fullest sense – through observation of subtle communication- and explore how to offer safe and kind touch techniques across a wide spectrum of yoga asana.
Students can expect to spend lots of time being both on the receiving end of experiencing assists and refining their skills in offering adjustments.
Please note that this training can be taken independently or as part of our 300 hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training Program. for more information on taking this module as part of our 300 hour program, please email april@lostnfoundyoga.com.
